Description:

While I was with Lance in Aspen about three weeks after he broke his collarbone, we decided it was time to get back on the time trial bike and see how the position affected him. The aero position is hard to maintain while recovering from a broken collarbone because you don't have your hand, wrist, and elbow to soak up some of the road shock. In the aero position, the road vibration goes straight up from elbow pad to the shoulder. Lance experienced some minor pain, but nothing significant, so it looks like he'll be back to full-throttle aero-position time trial efforts pretty soon.
